After two days of strong shows, Arjun Atwal's form wavered on day three and his shoddy penultimate round of three-over 74 saw the Orlando-based Indian slump to tied 60th in the $ 550,000 Utah Championship on the Nationwide Tour in Sandy.
Placed tied 38th at the midway stage after his rounds of 68 and 69, Atwal stumbled on a wretched seven-hole stretch that cost him four shots, which was enough to spoil his card and leave him with a three-day total of two-under 211.
Atwal negated the second hole bogey with a birdie on the next but dropping another shot on the ninth saw him take turn at one-over.
On his way back, Atwal bogeyed the 11th, 13th and 15th to go four-over and though he signed off with a birdie to reduce some of the damage, a sub-par card and hopes for a top 10 finish had gone up in smoke by that time.
At the top, American Brendon Todd (195) blasted 65 to grab the lead with overnight leader Marc Leishman (68) breathing down his neck from one shot behind.
