Javed, who had been associated with the PCB for three decades in various capacities, told Pakistan daily Dawn that he had resigned because of family commitments.

Salim and two others were sacked Thursday on suspicion of leaking an e-mail by PCB chairman Naseem Ashraff to the Pakistan team management after the team's 140-run defeat against India in the tri-series in Bangladesh.

Ashraff has in the mail reportedly questioned the team management on various issues and decisions that did not go well in the light of the defeat.

Javed, however, questioned the tapping of Salim’s phone on moral grounds.

"It was ethically and legally wrong. No law anywhere in the world allows recording of private conversion of any person and it is a spiteful act,” he said.
