Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday rubbished renewed speculation that Didier Drogba was headed for the exit after the want-away striker pulled out of a pre-season tour with a knee injury, as goalkeeper Petr Cech signed a new five-year deal that will keep him with the club until 2013.

The newly installed coach insisted Drogba was 'very happy' with Chelsea after a virtually full-strength squad touched down in China without the Ivory Coast star.

"Didier's future with Chelsea is normal because he has a contract with us," he said. "I think he's very happy with Chelsea. I hope when we come back he'll be in good condition."

Scolari said Drogba would need up to four weeks' rehabilitation on a long-standing knee problem, ruling him out of the tour, which also takes in Macau, Malaysia and Russia.

The London side have brought new signings Deco and Jose Bosingwa, as well as England midfielder Frank Lampard who is being actively courted by Inter Milan.

"Didier is injured. The doctor and our medical staff made a plan to have him training and playing in maybe three or four weeks," Scolari said. "But at this moment it's impossible for Didier to come with us."

The former Portugal and Brazil boss earlier insisted Drogba, who has been linked with Barcelona, Inter Milan and AC Milan, was "200 per cent" in his plans.

Drogba's future

Drogba's agent said last week that the striker would decide his future within days. Marseille fans are clubbing together to bring the 30-year-old back to the club, gathering more than two million euros as of last week.

Cech expressed delight with his new deal, "I'm really happy with the fact that I can stay at Chelsea for many more years," said the Czech international.

"During my first years at Chelsea I had a fantastic time with support from people at the club, my team-mates and the fans. I'm really happy that I can still be a part of this great club."

Cech, 26, who is here on a pre-season tour, has kept 90 clean sheets in 166 appearances for Chelsea since arriving in 2004.

He said he was hoping to banish memories of Euro 2008, when his slip allowed Turkey to rally from two goals down to reach the quarter-finals.

"Mistakes can happen to everyone," Cech said. "It's important to get over it and keep working harder and harder -- that's why I'm here."

Chief executive Peter Kenyon hailed the new contract, which comes as speculation swirls over striker Didier Drogba and midfielder Frank Lampard.

"We are delighted. Petr is one of -- if not the best -- goalkeeper in the world, and to have him sign another five-year commitment to Chelsea is great news for everyone," Kenyon said.

Chelsea play Guangzhou Pharmaceutical on Wednesday before matches in Macau, Malaysia and Russia.
