LTTE declares ceasefire for SAARC Summit

The LTTE on Monday night declared unilateral ceasefire from July 26 to August 4 keeping in mind the SAARC summit.
LTTE political head B Nadesan said the Tigers will not undertake any attack when the 15th SAARC summit begins on July 27 in Colombo.
The LTTE in a statement said, "we wish the SARRC meeting all the success".
Stating that their's liberation struggle, the LTTE said they had no enmity with anyone.
The LTTE had earlier signed ceasefire with the government in 2002 which was called off by the Sri Lankan government early this year as the hostilities between the two sides were continuing unabated.
The Sri Lanka government last week decided to set up "High Security Zones" in and around Colombo to provide foolproof safety for top leaders who will be visiting the Lankan capital to attend the summit.
