MOVIE REVIEW: WANTED
RATING: * * *
Wanted has all the elements of a thriller. The fast paced movie blends the cryptic with the extraordinary perfectly well.
A loser accountant who is frequently struck by panic attacks thinks that he’s by far God’s biggest mistake. He is called names at work, his girlfriend cheats on him with is best friend, he is almost broke and train line running just next to his house building will soon bring it down with its rampaging sounds.
Suddenly, life takes a turn and the loser lands up amidst great action and frenzy at a departmental store only to discover he is carrying the lineage of a 1000 year old secret society of assassins, one of whom kills his father. What follows is vigorous almost ruthless training of our loser who soon turns into a unstoppable assassin only to fall victim to the members of the secret society and discover a secret that he would regret for his entire existence.
The best part about the movie remains its pace and effects. The action and thrill almost never cease giving the quintessential movie watcher exactly the pump in adrenaline that he/she is looking for.
The movie essentially belongs to James McAvoy even though Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman plays central characters.
