In addition to the two stimulus packages announced by the Centre recently, the Government is considering to announce sector specific stimulus packages by another four to six weeks, Union Minister of State for Industries Ashwani Kumar said on Saturday.

"The stimulus package would focus not only to export oriented industries but also in the sectors where larger number of people are employed", he told reporters on the sidelines of the 24th India International Leather Fair which he inaugurated in Chennai.

Stating that the government's principal focus was to ensure job security and to minimise job losses, he said that the idea of announcing sector specific stimulus package was to kickstart those sectors which would give maximum employment.

Responding to a query he said, "some of the sectors would be automobile, textiles, leather, construction and also those sectors which employs a large number of people".

Stressing the need that there should be more focus on the skill development, he said the government would be setting up a Center of Vocational Excellence in all the districts of the country.

"This is a UPA government initiative. There are around 700 districts (in the country) and each one will have a government sponsored Vocational Excellence Centre" he said.

He said that a 'substantial amount' has been allotted for the Vocational Excellence Centre.
