Fresh protests erupt in Srinagar

Several parts of Srinagar witnessed protests and shutdown on Tuesday following the recovery of a youth's body, a relative of separatist leader Yasin Malik, from Parimpora area of the city, official sources said in Srinagar.
Police recovered the body of Shabir Ahmad Shiekh, a resident of Maisuma, from Shairefabad in Parimpora area in the outskirts of the city today, official sources said here.
Shiekh, an auto-driver by profession, had not returned home on Monday night and according to preliminary investigation, he was strangulated and his body did not have any other marks. The body was later taken to police control room for post mortem, they said.
As soon as the news of recovery reached Maisuma area, a mob gathered and started raising slogans, demanding arrest of the culprits.
Later, the mob went around the commercial hub of Lal Chowk, Budshah Chowk, Hari Singh High Street and other adjoining areas, forcing a shut down, they said.
