A 'harmony' march will be organised in Melbourne on July 12 against the attacks on Indians, a visiting delegation of Australian parliamentarians said in Dharamsala on Friday, asserting that Canberra was taking effective steps to curb the "disgraceful" incidents.

"It (attacks on Indian students in Australia) is disgraceful and shocking," ruling Labour MP Micheal Danky, who led the delegation, told reporters at Mcleodganj, about 22 km from here at the headquarters of Tibetan government in-exile.

"It is not the Australian way... the government is closely watching the events to effectively check such incidents," Danky added.

The lawmaker pointed that the number of students coming to Australia had increased manifold in recent years.

He said a harmony march is being organised in Melbourne on July 12 against the attacks on Indians.

The sic-member delegation comprising representatives of all major parties of Australia is here to meet Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
