New Delhi / NewsX Bureau

Abdul Karim Tunda shot into prominence after the 1993 Mumbai blasts. But these days, he's the key player in Dawood Ibrahim's plans to shift to Bangladesh.

However, unlike Dawood, Tunda has been associated more with terror than the underworld.

Tunda who comes from UP fled to Dhaka after the Mumbai blasts. He was the Indian commander of the Lashkar e Tayyabba and reported only to Zaki –ur – rehman, the LeT chief.

With the help of a local Bangladeshi militant movement Tunda formed his own outfit that operated in the North East.

And over the years he has become the main recruiter for the LeT .

Nicknamed Tunda, after losing his hand while assembling bomb, was the one one of the person who had helped 93 Mumbai blast accused to make bombs for he been an expert in bomb making and terror activities. He was the perfect choice by Dawood for his operation in Bangladesh.

Intelligence agencies say they have found some alarming facts about Dawood's operations in Dhaka.

According to them, more then 500 D-company members have infiltrated Bangladesh. They use Bangladeshi passports of poor labourers to gain easy entry into India.

Tunda himself is training recruits for Dawood’s operation for Bangldesh.

Intelligence agencies say this marks a new phase of terrorism where the international terrorist groups are teaming up with the underworld to become more effective.

Presence of Tunda and increase in Dawood's activity in Bangladesh is worrying Indian investigating agencies. For Dawood is not only part of underworld syndicate but also terror activities which means that agencies now will have to keep close watch Bangladesh including Pakistan.
