In yet another ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the second in 24 hours, Pakistani troops today fired light and medium machine guns at an Indian border post in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian border guards and Pakistani troops traded gunfire late last night near a forward Indian outpost in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir but there was no casualty on the Indian side.
Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor on Wednesday said Pakistan had violated ceasefire norms recently with an intention to push in more terrorists to Jammu and Kashmir before the onset of winter.
In a ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops on Tuesday fired on Indian army personnel along the LoC in Balnoi area in Poonch district in which one jawan was killed.
India on Monday conveyed its concern to Pakistan over the recent spurt in border ceasefire violations and the attack on its embassy in Kabul for which ISI has been blamed.
