Alleging that electronic voting machines (EVMs) were tampered with, a senior Member of Parliament from Shiv Sena on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court for setting aside the just concluded 15th Lok Sabha elections.

With questions being raised by a section over the proper functioning of Electronic Voting Machines, BJP on Sunday asked the Election Commission to ensure that the machines are tamper-proof before putting them to use in the coming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana.

The Election Commission has decided to procure 70,000 high-tech Electronic Voting Machines for West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
