    Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday called off the agitation against the Bachchans that threatened to stall the release of movies starring the family members over Jaya's alleged anti-Marathi remarks.

    Megastar Amitabh Bachchan said on Tuesday that the casual off-the-cuff remarks about speaking in Hindi by his wife Jaya had hurt many people's sentiments and was glad that she has apologised for it.

    "After reaping the harvest, these people start asserting their regional and lingual affiliations and if Maharashtrians talk about their cultural identity, the Marathi Manoos is branded as parochial," Thackeray said.
