Lok Sabha polls
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was sought to be coveted by BJP's rivals during Lok Sabha elections on the basis of secular credentials, has ruled out severing ties with the saffron party in the Assembly elections that are due later this year.- In an acknowledgement of the poor state of affairs in BJP, party mouthpiece Kamal Sandesh has said Lok Sabha and other poll defeats were caused due to infighting, lack of discipline and unity in the party.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who had asked the top BJP leadership to sort out problems in the wake of Lok Sabha debacle, on Tuesday seemed to suggest that the party may need a "surgery" or even chemotherapy" treatment, a view rejected by BJP chief Rajnath Singh.
The CPI(M) Politburo on Saturday began a two-day meeting to finalise a document to deal with its organisational problems which led to its rout in the recent polls in its strongholds of West Bengal and Kerala.- After a three-day brainstorming session, BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Friday said LK Advani will continue to lead the party and gave clear signals that dissent and indiscipline will not be tolerated.
