The Maharashtra government has opposed the bail plea of 2008 Malegaon bomb blast accused Sadhavi Pragya Singh Thakur saying it had challenged the lower court's order which dropped charges under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act in the case.

Four persons belonging to a right-wing Hindu group linked to Malegaon blast accused sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur were detained on Saturday in connection with the explosion in Goa's Margao town in which two members of the outfit were killed.

The Army is likely to approach the special MCOCA court in Mumbai on Monday seeking custody of Lt Col Prasad Purohit, prime accused in the September 2008 Malegaon blast case, to initiate proceedings against him.

Maharashtra BJP on Monday alleged that Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh, who is now in judicial custody, was being harassed and said that her lawyer would approach the state Human Rights Commission on the issue.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in the September 29 Malegaon blast case, on Wednesday moved the special MCOCA court to seek bail.
