movie review
Director Sanjay Puran Singh manages to do two things with Lahore. One, he gives us a gripping sport, kickboxing that has never really been exploited as a mainstay in a film. Second, he gives a hard hitting Gandhian message that an eye for an eye would make the world blind.
Director Dibakar Banerjee has never conformed to stereotypes. Which is why he always manages to do something HATKE. He gave us Khosla Ka Ghosla and then Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye for which he has even won a National Award.
Now Burton's Alice in Wonderland possesses all the wonders and characters that Lewis Carroll had intended us to enjoy. Wonderland, which is now called Underland, has the same mistique andbeauty that we had spun as we read the book.
The Great Gambler is back but this time as an idiosyncratic, old and non-entertaining one. And for all those who thought, Teen Patti will be Bollywood's answer to Twenty One or Ocean's series, it is time to wake up from your dream.
First impressions suddenly become the last ones in so far as KCK is concerned. What begins as a slow, boring and tiring film, continues to keep its initial reputation intact through the end, barring in a lonely half hour in between.
