Bharti Airtel on Sunday announced tying up of $8.3 billion debt for the proposed acquisition of the Kuwait-based Zain Telecom's African unit.
Prime Minister's IT Advisor Sam Pitroda today said the Government expects to complete the auction of the 3G spectrum in the next two months.
The government today invited applications from mobile operators to participate in the auction of 3G spectrum and allowed three private players in most of the circles while four in five states including Punjab and Bihar.
The much-delayed 3G spectrum auction will start on April 9 which is expected to fetch the exchequer more than Rs 35,000 crore.
State-owned telecom firm BSNL on Saturday said it plans to add 2.2 crore subscribers next fiscal and is mulling foray into the mobile banking and advertising space.
