In what one UEFA official called European football's worst ever match-fixing scandal, investigators said on Friday criminals may have netted 10 million euros rigging 200 games in nine countries.

World anti-doping chief John Fahey on Wednesday accused FIFA and UEFA of ignoring reality, after they rejected rules that ease out-of-competition drugs testing of individual footballers.

Tension escalated between the two most powerful bodies in football and the World Anti-Doping Agency in a dispute over out-of-competition drug testing.

UEFA announced on Tuesday it had received four bids to stage the Euro 2016 championships by Monday's deadline. They are France, Italy, Turkey and a joint bid from Sweden and Norway.
