Pakistan premier Yousuf Raza Gilani has barred Sports Minister Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani from attending the opening ceremony of the hockey World Cup in Delhi tomorrow, according to a media report in Islamabad today.
In a u-turn, Pakistan Government on Wednesday decided to accept Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry's recommendations for judicial postings, to avert a possible showdown with the Supreme Court, which had struck down the appointment of two judges.
Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani today condemned the bomb blast in Pune, saying Pakistan was against terrorism in all its manifestation and maintained that his country wants better relations and a "meaningful dialogue" with India.
Equating the Kashmir issue with the Palestine problem, Pakistan Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani has claimed that peace will remain elusive in South Asia and the Middle East unless these matters are resolved.
Pakistan today announced that the Foreign Secretary-level talks with India will be held in New Delhi on February 25 during which it will raise all "core issues" and the need for their "expeditious resolution through resumption of Composite Dialogue".
