As tension between Israel & hezbollah escalates, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that it has eliminated more than 2,000 military targets and approximately 250 Hezbollah fighters in the last four days of operations.
The casualties among Hezbollah include five battalion commanders, ten company commanders, and six platoon commanders.
Further, it also confirmed that the Israeli Air Force has been carrying out preemptive strikes in southern Lebanon as part of intelligence-led operations.
In a post shared on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the IDF stated: “Over the last 4 days, the IDF has neutralized over 2,000 military targets and 250 Hezbollah terrorists, including several senior commanders.”

This escalation follows Iran’s launch of hundreds of missiles towards Israel on Tuesday. According to Al Jazeera, Iran confirmed that about 180 ballistic missiles were fired in retaliation for the Israeli assassinations of high-ranking leaders from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Meanwhile, Israel is currently facing attacks on two fronts—Hezbollah, backed by Iran, from the north and Hamas from the south.
In response, Israel has launched “Operation Northern Arrows” to protect its citizens along the Lebanon border, as well as “Operation Swords of Iron” following the October 7 Hamas attacks, which included mass assaults and the capture of Israeli hostages.
