Matters took an extremely weird and bizarre turn when this scoundrel, struggling to don the cloak of a moron by trying to masquerade as a police officer, rang his video call wrongly and ended up video-calling into the Thrissur Cyber Cell instead, thereby spilling the beans over himself. According to sources, the incident occurred when the scammer clad in full police uniform sitting behind what looked to be some authentic police station setup tried tricking the officers.

However, in his burgeoning efforts, things started to move in a direction which he had never expected. The fraudster found himself accidentally addressing real law enforcement officers via video call. This moment of realization came when he realized that the people on the other side of the phone were not merely colleagues or accomplices but actual police officers from Thrissur Cyber Cell.
The scammer was clearly caught off guard but tried to play cool and composed only to be outwitted by officers. Instead of being the clever one and fleecing others, he was in the process of being the victim when these officers proved themselves quick-witted by turning the scam on his head. The whole affair ended with the scammer being left exposed quite suddenly because he realized his mistake so soon.
This one is quite humorous but at the same time serious, for even the most authentic efforts of impersonating authority can be foiled by sharp law enforcement professionals very fast. The Thrissur Cyber Cell, known to have dealt with some of the very complex cyber crimes, was able to unearth the scammer without much effort.
