After winding up his Germany visit, PM Modi heads to Denmark on Day 2

The prime minister will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, for a visit. After that, he'll travel to Paris, France.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Denmark for the first time on Tuesday, following a hectic first day of his three-nation European tour, which began in Germany. Mette Frederiksen, the Danish Prime Minister, visited India in October. During his visit to Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen, the Prime Minister will meet Queen Margrethe II. PM Modi met with German chancellor Olaf Scholz on the first day of his tour to Europe, received a warm greeting from members of the Indian community, and met with numerous prominent business executives. The Ukraine conflict, which is now in its ninth week, is also a highlight of the visit.

The following are the most recent developments on PM Modi’s tour to Europe:

1. In addition to attending the second India-Nordic Summit, Prime Minister Modi will speak to members of the Indian community in Denmark at the India-Denmark Business Forum.

2. According to Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry, around 200 Danish companies are involved in promoting ‘Make in India’ and other government initiatives.

3. According to the government, approximately 16,000 people of Indian ancestry live in Denmark. According to a PMO statement, Germany is home to the majority of Europe’s 1 million people with Indian heritage.

4. India wants to deepen its ties with the Nordic countries, including Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, in areas such as climate change, innovation, and information and technology. According to the foreign ministry, the country’s commerce with the Nordic region is worth USD 5 billion.

5. On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi will meet with the leaders of these countries.

6. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister and the German chancellor discussed “important areas of bilateral cooperation under the overall strategic partnership, as well as regional and global events” on Monday.

7. “In comparison to other developing economies, India has experienced the quickest development in the post-COVID era.” We are optimistic that India will play a key role in the global revival. In a short period of time, we concluded trade deals with the UAE and Australia. “We are dedicated to making rapid progress in the FTA negotiations, including with the EU,” Prime Minister Modi stated on Monday.

8. The prime minister reiterated on Monday that no one will come out of the Ukraine conflict as a winner. “We feel that no one will emerge victorious from this conflict, and that everyone will incur losses. As a result, we’re on the side of peace… Oil prices are skyrocketing as a result of the Ukraine issue, there is a lack of food grains and fertilisers, and every household in the globe is suffering as a result “he stated Germany, too, demanded a halt to Russia’s aggressiveness.

9. Germany-India On the first day, PM Modi attended intergovernmental consultations and a business roundtable with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

10. According to a government statement, more than 1600 members of Germany’s dynamic Indian community – including students, academics, and professionals – were present at a colourful celebration where PM Modi was warmly welcomed.
