A police squad from the West Garo Hills district launched a counter-insurgency operation in the Nikikona village area under the Phulbari police station late Friday night as a result of a tip-off, and three feared criminals were apprehended. In addition, police found weapons and ammo on them.

According to Vivekanand Singh Rathore, Superintendent of Police (SP) of the West Garo Hills district, the operation was started as a result of confidential intelligence.

Vivekanand Singh Rathore stated, “We have detained three offenders and seized from them one handgun, one magazine, three rounds of live ammo, one motorcycle carrying registration number ML-08G-4295, one scooter without registration number, two mobile phones, and two SIM cards.”

The three people that were detained were named Silman R. Marak (30), Elias Alom (24), and Nur Hussain (22 years old).
