Congress’ Little Respect for Non-Gandhi Leader Shown By Rahul: Fmr PM Grandson

Congress’ Little Respect for Non-Gandhi Leader Shown By Rahul: Fmr PM Grandson

NV Subhash, a leader in the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party and the grandson of PV Narasimha Rao, claimed on Monday that Rahul Gandhi’s failure to honour PV Narasimha Rao during the state’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was an example of the Congress’ alleged lack of respect for a non-Gandhi party leader.

Gandhi allegedly spoke at a rally in Hyderabad next to Indira Gandhi’s statue, but “deliberately” left without paying respects to Narasimha Rao. The BJP leader made his comments after Rahul Gandhi paid respect to past leaders Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the nation’s capital on Monday but did not visit Ekta Sthal to honour PV Narasimha Rao.

Speaking to the media, Subhash stated, “Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the monuments of previous prime ministers in Delhi plainly demonstrates that the party has little regard for its veteran non-Gandhi leaders who gave their life for the sake of the nation and the party’s growth.

Rahul Gandhi visited the memorials during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and paid honour to past prime ministers such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and even Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but he did not do the same for non-Gandhi PM PV Narasimha Rao.

Rahul Gandhi spoke at a gathering next to Indira Gandhi’s statue while on his yatra in Hyderabad, but he purposefully left without paying respects to Narasimha Rao, the author said.

According to Subhash, the history of Congress proves that the party “never recognised” the contributions of a leader who was not a member of the Gandhi family. The BJP leader used Narasimha Rao as an example, claiming that Congress failed to bid him a dignified farewell following his passing.

“The history of the Congress party demonstrates that it never honoured or recognised the contributions of its non-Gandhi family leaders, such as late former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao and deputy prime minister Sardar Vallabbhai Patel. After PV Narasimha Rao passed away, the party failed to bid him a dignified farewell “He said.

Subhash said, “Congress never acknowledged the contributions of P V Narasimha Rao, who was known as an economic reformer and effectively had placed the country’s economy on the correct track. Had PV Narasimha Rao not been Prime Minister in 1991, the existence of the Congress party would have vanished.

The BJP leader called the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is being led by Rahul Gandhi, a “futile walking exercise.”
