Tremors felt in Delhi and adjacent areas

Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the Kashmir Valley at around 7:59 pm. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Delhi and surrounding areas.

Earthquake tremors have been felt in Delhi-NCR and Jammu-Kashmir. Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the Kashmir Valley at around 7:59 pm. The earthquake’s epicentre has been in the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. Its intensity on the Richter scale has been 5.9. The National Center for Seismology said an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred at 7:55 pm. The earthquake’s epicentre was 79 km south of Faizabad, Afghanistan and its depth was 70.66 km below the ground.

Along with this, earthquake tremors were also felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. Earthquake tremors have been felt in many parts of India, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. At the same time, strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Lahore and surrounding areas of Pakistan. The earthquake’s depth was greater than the epicentre, due to which the tremors were felt so far away.

Earlier on Sunday, earthquake tremors were also felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. However, there was no news of injury or damage to anyone. The National Center for Seismology had said that an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 was recorded in Haryana’s Jhajjar with tremors in Delhi and surrounding areas on Sunday morning.

The National Center for Seismology said, “An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 jolted the national capital and surrounding areas at around 1.19 pm”. The earthquake’s epicentre was in Jhajjar, Haryana and its depth was 5 km below the ground.”
