Flights delayed due to bad weather at Delhi’s IGIA

According to a Delhi airport official, around 20 flights from the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were delayed on Sunday till 1 p.m. owing to inclement weather and other operational concerns.

Cold wave conditions and dense fog have been seen throughout North India, including the national capital, disrupting aircraft operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, with around 13 incoming flights from various places delayed. “There was no flight diversion notified until 6 a.m.,” claimed an airport official.

Travellers at Delhi’s IGI remarked “The visibility at the airport is really low amid the terrible cold that we have all been experiencing.”

The IGIA issued an alert and initiated procedures on Saturday in response to low visibility circumstances induced by fog.

In an advice to travellers, airport authorities stated that multiple steps had been implemented to combat the threat of low visibility at the airport.

According to airport officials, travellers should call their respective airlines for the most up-to-date information on their flight status.
