Situation along Northern border stable but unpredictable: Army Chief Manoj Pande

There has been constant tension on the border between India and China since 2020. Indian Army Chief Manoj Pande said on Thursday that the situation on the northern borders is stable but unpredictable. Talking to the media, he said that we had resolved five out of seven issues. We are talking at both military and diplomatic levels. We have enough reserves to deal with any situation.

Talking about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army Chief said there had been a ceasefire on the border in Jammu and Kashmir since February 2021, but cross-border terrorism is being supported continuously. There has been, and the infrastructure of terror still exists there.

He said that peace has returned in most of the Northeast states. Due to economic activities and development works in these states, good results are being seen. Army Day is also special because the country will celebrate its 75th Independence Day this time.

During the press conference, Army Chief Manoj Pandey said we had decided to change the Indian Army. He said that it had been decided to make changes in the Army in five major domains: Force Restructuring, Modernization, New Technology Infusion and Human Resource Management Philosophy.

General Manoj Pande said women officers would soon be inducted into the Indian Army’s Corps of Artillery. We have sent a proposal to the government, and we hope it will be accepted soon.
