Uttarakhand was blanketed in snow on Saturday morning after receiving more snowfall overnight.
Higher mountain ranges in Joshimath, including Chamoli district, including the holy temple of Badrinath in Chamoli district, were blanketed in snow.
In its weather forecast, the Regional Meteorological Centre projected “mild to moderate rain/snowfall” throughout much of the state.
The Pandukeshwar region, which includes the Badri Nath temple, was blanketed with 2 feet of snow, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.
However, the lowest temperature did not go below zero degrees. According to the study, maximum temperatures in the hills here remained above “average”.
Meanwhile, some sections of Himachal Pradesh were also blanketed with snow.
Mandhol’s trees and houses were blanketed in white, and residents decided to stay warm inside their homes despite the heavy snowfall.
