In Punjab’s Gurdaspur, the Border Security Forces have foiled smugglers’ plans. According to the information, on the intervening night of 17-18 January 2023, the Border Security Force shot down a Pakistani drone in Uncha Takla village of Gurdaspur. The team of security forces recovered 4 Chinese-made pistols, eight magazines and 47 cartridges from the drone.
BSF said that on January 17-18, a BSF team deployed on the outskirts of Uncha Takla village of Gurdaspur heard the sound of a suspicious drone coming from Pakistan. Acting swiftly, the BSF team fired in the direction of the sound of the suspected drone. During the firing, the party also heard the sound of something falling in the nearby area. When he conducted a search operation in the area, four Chinese pistols and eight magazines were found tied in a packet.
BSF Sector Gurdaspur DIG Prabhakar Joshi said that the BSF jawans heard the sound of the drone, and the jawans fired around 17 rounds. During this, the sound of something falling from the drone was heard. BSF said that when searched, one packet was recovered, out of which four china pistols, eight magazines and 47 rounds were recovered. He said the area is being probed.
