Kanjhawala hit-and-drag case to come up in Delhi Assembly today

The House will debate the “deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi due to drug trafficking and increasing drug addiction in youth” on the last day of the Delhi Assembly.

On the penultimate day of the Delhi Assembly, AAP MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam would draw Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s attention to the “deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi due to drug trafficking and increasing drug addiction in youth,” according to an official. Other Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, including Atishi, Madan Lal, and Jarnail Singh, will begin a debate on “Steps to improve law and order situation and women security in light of the recent gruesome death of a girl in Kanjhawala,” according to the List of Business.

Today, on the penultimate day of the Delhi Assembly’s three-day Winter Session, Sisodia will introduce the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Annual Accounts Report for Fiscal Year 2020-21.

He would also request that the ‘Delhi Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2023,’ which was tabled in the House on Tuesday, be taken into consideration, and that the bill be enacted.

On Tuesday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel banned five BJP MLAs for the day after they protested against AAP MLA Atishi’s calling attention motion on the matter of alleged “illegal interferences” by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena in children’s education and teacher training.

On Goel’s orders, BJP lawmakers Ajay Mahawar, Jitendra Mahajan, OP Sharma, Abhay Verma, and Anil Bajpai were marched out of the House.

The first day of the Delhi Assembly session was postponed for the full day due to a verbal spat between the AAP and the BJP. Both parties leveled accusations and headed to the streets to protest.
The BJP and the governing Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently clashed during the Municipal Corporation of Delhi mayoral election (MCD).
