At least three people were killed and four sustained injuries in a shooting in Los Angeles early Saturday morning.
California has become s victim of recurrent mass shootings, recording its sixth shooting only in the month of January 2023.
The incident was confirmed to have taken place at 2:30 am in Beverly Crest, an upscale Los Angeles neighbourhood, as per Sergeant Frank Predciado of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Out of the seven, four were standing outside while three who were killed were seated inside a vehicle. Those who sustained injuries were immediately rushed to the hospital and are in a critical condition. The identities of the victims have not been released.
Preciado said he did not have information on the circumstances due to which the shooting occurred, or if it took place at a residence. It is yet to be revealed as to whether the suspect/s have been taken into custody or not.
For the last three consecutive years, US has recorded over 600 mass shooting wherein at least four civilians have been injured or declared dead, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
Just a couple days before this incident, five Chinese nationals were confirmed dead in a mass shooting at Half Moon Bay in California.
