Punjab: In a latest border action a Pakistani drone is shot down by BSF troops in the Amritsar sector, and contraband is recovered on February 3rd. During the night of February 2 to February 3, at 2:30 a.m., In an aggressive retaliation a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot down a Pakistani drone that had invaded the Amritsar sector. The drone was flying along the Indo-Pak border.

According to BSF, the drone entered the BOP Rear Kakkar’s area of responsibility in the Amritsar sector of Punjab and the drone along with a package of illegal goods were recovered on Friday morning between the zero line and the border fence.

Meanwhile, the BSF suspected drone activity in the early hours of Wednesday near the Mumbeke village in the Fazilka district of Punjab at the Indo-Pak border.

The confrontation took place on February 1, 2023 when a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed at the border heard a buzzing sound and a flashing red light from a suspected drone entering Indian territory near Mumbeke in Fazilka, a village near Pakistan.

According to the exercise, troops fired in an attempt to stop the drone. The entire area was cordoned off, and the police and other concerned organizations were informed.

In addition, a blinker device and three contraband packets weighing 2.622 kilograms, all of which were thought to be heroin, were recovered from a wheat field near the village Mumbeke during the BSF’s search of the area.

Meanwhile, there were two batteries attached to each of the blinker devices. However, an additional investigation is underway, and detailed facts about the incident would only be revealed post the completion of the investigation.
