Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru today, with the goal of highlighting India’s increasing potential as an energy transition superpower.
“I am looking forward to being in Karnataka tomorrow, February 6. Upon reaching Bengaluru, I will take part in the India Energy Week 2023. Later, I will go to Tumakuru to launch key development works and lay the foundation stone of various projects,” PM Modi tweeted on Sunday. IEW is being held from February 6-8.
The event will bring together leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industries, governments, and academics to explore the challenges and opportunities that a responsible energy transition brings, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). More than 30 ministers from around the world will attend.
Over 30,000 participants, 1,000 exhibitors, and 500 presenters will meet to explore India’s energy future challenges and prospects.
The Prime Minister will take part in a roundtable discussion with global oil and gas CEOs during the event. He will also launch a number of green energy programmes.
The ethanol blending programme has been a primary emphasis area for the government in order to achieve energy self-sufficiency.
In accordance with the ethanol blending roadmap, the Prime Minister will introduce E20 fuel at 84 retail outlets of Oil Marketing Companies across 11 states and territories. E20 is a gasoline blend that contains 20% ethanol. The government intends to attain a total 20% ethanol blend by 2025, and oil marketing corporations are constructing 2G-3G ethanol plants to help with this goal.
The Prime Minister will also officially launch the Green Mobility Rally. The event will feature automobiles powered by green energy sources and will assist raise public awareness about green energies.
The Prime Minister will unveil the uniforms as part of Indian Oil’s ‘Unbottled’ programme.
With the goal of eliminating single-use plastic, Indian Oil has chosen uniforms made of recycled polyester (rPET) and cotton for retail customer attendants and LPG delivery workers.
Each uniform outfit of Indian Oil’s client attendants will contribute to the recycling of around 28 discarded PET bottles. IndianOil is taking this endeavour a step further by launching ‘Unbottled,’ a brand for sustainable clothes produced from recycled polyester.
PM Modi will also dedicate and launch the twin-cooktop model of Indian Oil’s Indoor Solar Cooking System.
IndianOil previously developed and patented a revolutionary and patented Indoor Solar Cooking System with a single hob. Based on user input, the twin-cooktop Indoor Solar Cooking system has been built to provide greater versatility and convenience of use. It is a ground-breaking indoor solar cooking system that uses both solar and auxiliary energy sources at the same time, making it a dependable cooking solution for India.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the HAL Helicopter Factory in Tumakuru later on Monday. The Prime Minister also lay the foundation stone in 2016. It is a dedicated new greenfield helicopter facility that will increase the capacity and ecosystem for helicopter production.
This helicopter plant will initially produce Light Utility Helicopters and is Asia’s largest helicopter production facility (LUH). The LUH is a 3-ton class, single-engine multifunctional utility helicopter that was created and developed in-house. It has a unique attribute of great manoeuvrability.
In the future, the plant will be expanded to build more helicopters such as the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and the Indian Multirole Helicopter (IMRH), as well as repair and overhaul of the LCH, LUH, Civil ALH, and IMRH. In the future, the factory may be able to export Civil LUHs.
This facility will allow India to meet its complete helicopter requirement domestically, earning the distinction of enabling self-reliance in helicopter design, development, and manufacturing in India.
The factory will have an Industry 4.0 manufacturing setup. HAL intends to construct around 1000 helicopters weighing 3-15 tonnes at Tumakuru during the next 20 years. This will provide work for over 6000 people in the region.
The Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for Tumakuru Industrial Township. The Industrial Township in Tumakuru has been developed in three phases as part of the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation for two Jal Jeevan Mission projects in Tumakuru, Tiptur and Chikkanayakanahalli.
The Tiptur Multi-Village Drinking Water Supply Project will cost more than Rs 430 crores to build. The multi-village water supply plan for 147 habitations in Chikkanayakanahlli taluk will cost roughly Rs 115 crores to construct. According to the PMO statement, the initiatives will make it easier to provide safe drinking water to the inhabitants of the region.
