Samajwadi Party holds protest outside UP Assembly ahead of Budget Session

MLAs from the Samajwadi Party (SP) demonstrated against the state government’s policies outside the Uttar Pradesh assembly in Lucknow on Monday, ahead of the start of the Budget Session.
The police were spotted transporting the protesting MLAs. With posters in hand, the protesters chanted anti-government slogans.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated on Monday that the budget would reflect public feeling. Deputy Chief Minister stated, “We will bring a budget in line with the public sentiment. The governor will address both houses.”

“The development of Uttar Pradesh will be taken up in the house. The government is constantly working for the overall development of the state,” added the Deputy CM.

The Budget Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will commence on Monday.
Suresh Khanna, the state finance minister, is expected to present the Budget 2023-24 on February 22.

On the first day, Governor Anandiben Patel will deliver an address to both Houses – the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. This is the second budget of Yogi Adityanath’s second tenure, and the seventh overall.

Meanwhile, the Global Investors Summit was conducted from February 10 to 12. According to the government, a total of 19,058 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) for investment purposes worth Rs 33.50 lakh crore were signed during this period.
