Addressing the ‘Democracy Summit’ on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is the mother of Democracy. He said- ‘Democracy is not just a structure, it is also a soul. It is based on the belief that the needs and aspirations of every human being are equally important. He further said India’s economy is growing rapidly despite all the challenges. Today every initiative of our government is governed by the collective efforts of the citizens of India.
PM Modi said that the growth rate of our economy is moving forward despite all the challenges. Today, India has become a different identity of Democracy worldwide. We have told other countries how Democracy works and what are the benefits of having it.
Prime Minister Modi said- “Our guiding philosophy in India is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ – which means working together for inclusive growth. Today, despite many global challenges, India is the fastest-growing economy. It is itself the fastest growing economy in the world.” The best advertisement for Democracy. That in itself says that Democracy can deliver.”
He said, “The idea of elected leaders was common in ancient India long before the rest of the world. Whether it is our efforts to fight climate change, conserve water, or provide clean cooking fuel to all, every initiative belongs to India. The collective efforts of citizens drive it. Our Vaccine Maitri initiative has given millions of vaccines to the world. It was also guided by the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which is one earth, one family, one future.”
Earlier, PM Modi had said on the allegations of the opposition that when the world’s intellectuals are optimistic about our country, there are talks of showing the country in a bad light and hurting the morale. India has shown the world that Democracy can deliver results. Some people are getting worried due to the success of our Democracy. For this reason, attacks are being made on Democracy, but India will continue to move forward despite this.
