Delhi: PM Modi visits Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church on Easter

On the occasion of Easter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in Delhi’s Connaught Place on Sunday evening. As part of the celebration, PM Modi will offer prayers at the church and attend the church’s Prayer Mass, according to official sources.

Earlier, Fr. Francis Swaminathan, Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church said, “All preparations have been made to welcome the Prime Minister. We are very excited about his visit on the occasion of Easter.”

He stated that, as far as he is aware, this is the first time a Prime Minister has visited this chapel.

“We are very much looking forward to meeting him. We are happy that the Prime Minister will come here today and pray with us. We pray for him too and he will join us in praying for all of us”, he added.

He stated that the Prime Minister will pray and plant a seedling in the yard in front of the church.

“We have made all the preparations for PM Modi’s visit. From security to welcoming him in the church, all the preparations have been done.”

Fr. Swaminathan continued, “Lord Jesus sacrificed himself only to atone for our sins so that people could return to the right path, and then on the third day he was resurrected, proving that God had sent him only for us.” Following that, the Easter holiday is celebrated, and with this event, Christianity was born; without this festival, Christianity would not have existed.

“On this particular occasion Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming here and so we’re very excited about it” he stated.
