In the Nagaon district, Assam Police detained one individual and found Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs 2.25 lakh. Rasidul Hussain has been identified as the person who was apprehended, according to police. A police team launched an operation in the Borghat neighbourhood close to Nagaon town on Friday night based on confidential information, according to the police.

“We learned that they planned to sell FICN at the Borghat bypass area, so we started the operation based on the information we had. A person was apprehended, and he was questioned, according to Nagaon police officer Junmoni Rabha.

“We conducted a search operation at a house of Faizul Hoque at Muamari area under Samaguri police station and recovered FICN worth Rs 2.25 lakh,” he added.

The police added that a small number of other residents of the Lakhimpur district are complicit in this ring. The pursuit of the remaining suspects is ongoing.
