As the protest led by ace wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik mark a month, the star athletes of the country have called for a candlelight march from Jantar Mantar to the India Gate. The wrestlers are protesting against instances of alleged sexual assault by national federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The wrestlers have also decided to hold a peaceful women’s Maha Panchayat in front of the new Parliament on May 28. “We have decided to hold a peaceful women’s Maha Panchayat in front of the new Parliament on 28th May,” Wrestler Vinesh Phogat was quoted by ANI as saying.

Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia had shared a video on Twitter urging people to participate in the march. He was heard as saying, “Those who cannot physically participate must light candles in their homes at 5 pm and share videos on social media to extend their support.”

The wrestlers had already taken out a protest march on May 19 where they walked from Jantar Mantar to Bangla Sahib Gurudwara.
