FM Nirmala Sitharaman meets Boeing delegation, discusses India’s aviation market potential

A delegation from Boeing comprised of its global senior leadership team, led by its Salil Gupte interacted with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Speaking about India’s journey to becoming the world’s third largest economy, Sitharaman informed the global aviation solutions group of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership and the vision for the next 25 years — Amrit Kaal, while leading India to 100 years of independence.

Referencing to Amrit Kaal, she told the US-based organization that her government’s main priority is to help Indian citizens through the four “I”s: Investments, Infrastructure, Innovation, and Inclusivity.

India’s aviation on a strong growth trajectory: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Nirmala Sitharaman also noted that India’s aerospace and civil aviation markets are on a strong development trajectory, and she also briefed the group about aircraft leasing activities being performed by banks in Gujarat’s GIFT City.

She emphasized India’s effort on redefining itself as a Maintenance and Repair Overhaul hub that may possibly service the area from Europe to Africa to the Far East in the light of India’s geographical advantage.

The Union Finance Minister also emphasized on the prospects available in India for the company moving in the form of not just a captive market but also the opportunity to be a center for servicing the area as a whole, which can be lucrative for corporations from a commercial standpoint.
