JP Nadda, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, said on Saturday that the new Parliament building is a significant milestone in the journey of independent India and represents the spirit of India’s culture and heritage.
He stated that it represents the people’s determination to make India a developed nation. Nadda said in a tweet that, “the new Parliament Building is a significant milestone in India’s independent journey.” “This parliament building is more than just a structure; it embodies the spirit of India’s vibrant culture and heritage.”
He further stated that the new Parliament building is a tribute to the Indian people, who have consistently upheld the principles of democracy. It signifies the determination of the citizens to transform India into a developed nation, guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The BJP chief had previously described the new Parliament building as a remarkable architectural masterpiece that embodies the essence of a self-reliant India, reflecting the aspirations of the 1.4 billion people. He emphasized that it is a source of pride for every Indian, highlighting the remarkable progress the nation has achieved.
During the inauguration of the new Parliament House, Prime Minister Modi will place the historic and revered “Sengol” within the premises. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated earlier that “Sengol” symbolizes the transfer of power from the British to India and emphasized that the Parliament House is the most suitable and sacred location for it.
However, leaders from the Congress party and 20 other opposition parties have accused the government of bypassing President Droupadi Murmu for the event. In response, they have declared their intention to boycott the inaugural ceremony. BJP leaders have urged these opposition parties to reconsider their decision.
