Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked his historic US visit by meeting several prominent personalities including Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk. After meeting the PM, Musk told reporters outside the Lotte New York Palace that he is planning to visit India next year. He said, “I am planning to visit India next year. I am confident that Tesla will be in India and we will do so as soon as humanly possible.” He thanked PM Modi for his support and also expressed that he is a fan of the PM.

Musk continued, “He (PM Modi) really cares about India. He is pushing us to make significant investments in India which is something we intend to do.” He further stated that PM Modi wants to be open and supportive of new companies.

“…and at the same time ensures that it accures to India’s advantage which is obviously that’s the job I’m saying. I am a fan of Modi,” ANI quoted Musk as saying.

PM Modi, meanwhile, shared a photo with Elon Musk after meeting him and wrote, “Great meeting you today @elonmusk! We had multifaceted conversations on issues ranging from energy to spirituality.”

Musk also said that they are looking to bring Starlink to India which “could be incredibly helpful for rural areas.”

Besides these, Musk addressed Twitter laws and said that they don’t have a choice but to obey local governments, otherwise it will get shut down. “We will do our best to provide free speech that is possible under the law,” Musk was quoted as saying. His remarks came as a response to Twitter’s former owner and CEO Jack Dorsey’s allegations against the Government of India.
