Karnataka offers 100 acres to Foxconn Industrial Internet in Tumakuru

Karnataka provided Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) with a 100-acre property in the Japanese Industrial Park (JIP) in Tukumuru district. Foxconn has set aside Rs. 8,800 crore for investment. Televisions, monitors, routers, printers, and storage devices are just a few of the electronic items that Foxconn manufactures. It counts Apple, Amazon, Lenovo, Huawei, and Dell among its clients. A variety of other services, like as design and engineering, quality control, logistics and supply chain management, and after-sales support, are also offered to clients by Foxconn in addition to manufacturing.

During their meeting with CM Siddaramaiah, Industries Minister MB Patil, and IT/IB Minister Priyank Kharge, Brand Cheng, CEO of the Foxconn Industrial Internet team, highlighted their ambitions for Karnataka. At the CM’s request, the FII crew went to the Japanese park in Tumakuru.

According to a statement from the government, the FII unit Tumakuru would serve as an adjunct to Foxconn’s primary iPhone assembly plant, which the firm plans to build close to Bengaluru’s international airport.

In addition to producing the mechanical parts for phones, FII will produce screens and exterior casings. According to the Minister’s announcement, this will function as an additional plant to the Devanahalli (ITIR) assembly unit.

According to Patil Foxconn will invest 8,400 crore with a capacity to assemble about 20 million smartphones annually and will create 50,000 employment in the first phase.

“The process of handing over land to Apple Inc. supplier and Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn for its mobile devices manufacturing unit at Devanahalli ITIR is in final stages. Foxconn manufacturing phones for us is very prestigious for us” Patil said.
