Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, confidently predicted victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, affirming their dominance with a projected win of all 40 seats in Bihar and a third term for Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. He dismissed the Opposition alliance, stating, “The only thing that will end is the Opposition alliance,” while expressing skepticism about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s statements and affiliations.
Nityanand Rai criticized Nitish Kumar’s understanding, claiming he is guided by Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for personal gain, dubbing him a “fool” who lives in dreams. Nityanand Rai also accused the Congress of prioritizing the Prime Minister’s position to the extent of dividing the nation, in contrast to the BJP’s focus on the people.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his absence from Manipur amid worsening conditions and comparing it to the visits of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other opposition members. Tejashwi Yadav emphasized the need for action in Manipur and proposed a caste-based census once their opposition alliance forms the central government.
Rahul Gandhi criticized PM Modi’s behavior in the Lok Sabha during a no-confidence motion, stating that laughing and joking were inappropriate while Manipur was in turmoil. He accused PM Modi of misunderstanding the role of the Prime Minister of India.
In response, PM Modi referred to Manipur as a vital part of India and promised efforts to restore peace and progress, counteracting the perception that the state’s problems were recent in origin.
