Delhi: Full Dress Rehearsals For Independence Day Celebrations Underway At Red Fort

As the countdown to Independence Day nears its culmination, the preparations for the occasion have entered an intensified phase. Full dress rehearsals of diverse armed forces are currently in progress at the iconic Red Fort in the national capital.

On Tuesday, India will commemorate its 77th Independence Day, with the Prime Minister scheduled to address the nation from the historic ramparts of the Red Fort.

Recent communications from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, revealed the introduction of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign during his Mann Ki Baat broadcast. This initiative holds the purpose of paying tribute to the gallant freedom fighters and heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation’s cause.

PM Modi underscored, “Under this, many programs will be organized across the country in memory of our immortal martyrs. In memory of these luminaries, special inscriptions will also be installed in lakhs of village panchayats across the country. Under this campaign, the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ will also be organized across the country.”

Furthermore, in a recent call to action, PM Modi urged the citizens of India to actively participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement from August 13 to 15 this year. He emphasized the symbolic significance of the Indian flag, which embodies the spirit of freedom and national unity. He urged people to share their photographs with the Tricolour on the dedicated ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ website.

In his tweet, PM Modi stated, “The Tiranga symbolizes the spirit of freedom and national unity. Every Indian has an emotional connection with the Tricolour, and it inspires us to work harder to further national progress.” He further encouraged participation by saying, “I urge you all to take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement between 13th to 15th August. Upload your photos with the Tiranga here… https://harghartiranga.com.”

Meanwhile, a significant gathering of approximately 1,800 special guests from across India is anticipated at the Red Fort, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the flag hoisting ceremony on Independence Day.
