Uttarakhand, Chamoli : A person was discovered dead when a house collapsed close to Joshimath in the district, which has been affected by subsidence. The occurrence took place in Helang village on the Badrinath route between Pipalkoti and Joshimath on Tuesday late in the evening, according to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).The SDRF was notified by Kotwali Joshimath that a two-story house near a crushing plant on the banks of the Alaknanda River had collapsed, with some villagers perhaps trapped under the rubble, according to officials.
According to officials, the district police received the victim’s mortal remains after they were found beneath the wreckage. Seven workers were in the home at the time of the incident, according to the SDRF. When the incident occurred, seven laborers were in the home. According to an official, three of them were saved and sent to a hospital.
In the province, this month’s rain-related occurrences resulted in 52 fatalities and 37 injuries, according to government estimates. This monsoon’s heavy rains in Uttarakhand have caused landslides and flash floods in several locations.
Due to the state’s significant rains, the Badrinath National Highway has been shut in various locations throughout the Chamoli district, according to officials on Tuesday.
The route was closed in the Chamoli district’s Pipalkoti, Gadora, Navodaya Vidyalaya Pipalkoti, Gulabkoti, Pagalnala, and Vishnuprayag neighborhoods, according to Chamoli Police.
A landslide was caused by sporadic rainfall on Monday near Pipalkoti, blocking the route and burying many vehicles under rubble that was falling from the hillside.
