Vivek Ramaswamy, the youngest candidate vying for the Republican nomination in the 2024 US Presidential elections, has expressed his intention to seek guidance from Elon Musk if he secures the presidency, as reported by The Hill. During a town hall event in Iowa, the conservative entrepreneur outlined his strategy of including fresh perspectives in his administration and specifically mentioned Elon Musk, the billionaire behind SpaceX, Tesla, and the former Twitter, ‘X’, according to information from NBC News cited by The Hill.
Vivek Ramaswamy shared his interactions with Musk, noting his admiration for the way Musk managed ‘X’, which was previously known as Twitter. Comparing it to his own aspirations for governance, Ramaswamy praised Musk’s strategy of reducing Twitter’s workforce by 75% and applying this approach to the government. He explained in a recent Fox News interview that he seeks to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic inefficiencies and improve the core functions of the government, similar to Musk’s approach with ‘X’.
Musk, in a prior interview, highlighted his reduction of Twitter’s workforce from 8,000 to 1,500 since acquiring the platform for $44 billion. He also expressed optimism about Ramaswamy’s candidacy, considering him a promising contender.
Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur with a background in biotech and healthcare, has engaged in spirited debates with fellow GOP candidates on the debate stage. The 37-year-old, born in Cincinnati to Indian-American parents who migrated from Kerala, has authored books on topics ranging from identity politics to corporate social justice.
In his bid for the presidency, Vivek Ramaswamy seeks to uphold American values and excellence, emphasizing that his campaign goes beyond politics and represents a cultural movement. While he competes with established politicians in Republican primary polls, he trails behind former President Donald Trump by a considerable margin, according to CNN’s analysis.
Ramaswamy is set to join fellow Indian-American contenders Nikki Haley and Hirsh Vardhan Singh in the Republican primaries scheduled for January of the upcoming year.
