With a keen focus on security arrangements, the Delhi Police has meticulously crafted a multi-layered security strategy that covers various aspects of protection. From advanced technology to highly trained personnel, Delhi is poised to host the G20 Summit with utmost confidence in its security preparedness.
At the heart of the security plan lies the utilization of cutting-edge technology. The deployment of Anti-Drone Radar in the skies above Delhi serves as a proactive measure to counter any potential threats from unauthorized aerial vehicles. This radar system ensures real-time detection and response to any unauthorized drone activity, safeguarding the airspace and preventing any potential security breaches.
On the ground, specialized commando teams armed with modern weaponry are on standby, ready to respond swiftly to any emergent situations. These teams, equipped with the latest equipment and rigorous training, are strategically positioned throughout the city, ensuring rapid and effective response times in case of any security incidents.
Delhi’s security apparatus has also been extended beyond its borders in view of the multidimensional threats during G20 Summit. As per the reports Indian intelligence agencies are in touch with various foreign intelligence agencies including the US’s CIA, Britain’s MI-6, and China’s MSS. This international cooperation will allow the free flow of critical intelligence and insights, aiding in preemptive security measures against potential threats. The collaboration is intended to enhance overall security posture and strengthens its ability to counter any security challenges that might arise during the summit.
Delhi Police is in close contact with various security agencies to stay vigilant against inputs related to terrorist organizations and suspicious groups. This proactive approach ensures that any potential security threat is identified and addressed swiftly, minimizing the risk of disruption during the G20 Summit.
Delhi Police’s security deployment is a well-coordinated effort that involves various components working together seamlessly. The city’s airspace will be guarded by Anti-Drone Radar systems, which will be complemented by commando teams stationed on army helicopters, ready to respond swiftly to any emerging threat from the skies.
Special attention has been given to the routes that VIPs will be taking. Mobile fire tenders will be strategically stationed along these routes, ensuring rapid response capabilities in case of any emergency situations that might involve fire hazards.
The security responsibilities during the summit have been distributed among different units to ensure comprehensive protection. The Special Protection Group (SPG) will be primarily responsible for internal security within the venue, ensuring the safety of attendees, delegates, and high-profile guests.
Subsequent to the internal security, external security will be managed by a collaborative effort involving specialized units such as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) commandos, the National Security Guard (NSG), the Delhi Police, and various paramilitary forces. This multi-layered approach guarantees the security of the summit from both within and outside.
Over 1600 security personnel will be strategically deployed across more than a dozen hotels, adding an additional layer of security to the delegates’ accommodations during the entirety of the G20 Summit.
