Observing the sacred tradition of Raksha Bandhan, a group of schoolgirls in New Delhi tied rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming the bond between siblings. Welcoming PM Modi with cheerful smiles as he entered the classroom, the girls tenderly fastened the sacred threads on his wrist. As the young girls approached, Prime Minister Modi warmly reciprocated, exchanging affectionate smiles and inquiring about their names and classes.
In a heartwarming moment that added to the festivities, one of the girls even planted a gentle kiss on PM Modi’s cheek. Responding with a paternal gesture, he leaned down to bless her, creating an endearing scene that encapsulated the spirit of the occasion.
Seated in a chair, PM Modi graciously accepted the rakhis from the schoolgirls, who took turns to tie them. To commemorate the event, he also posed for a group photograph alongside the schoolgirls and their teachers, emphasizing the importance of unity and camaraderie.
The rakhis, specially tailored for the occasion, featured Prime Minister Modi’s image, adding a personal touch to the gesture. This unique detail enhanced the significance of the exchange.
Across the nation, Raksha Bandhan is being observed with customary enthusiasm and magnificence, symbolizing the enduring connection between brothers and sisters. Notably, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, schoolgirls tied rakhis to CRPF jawans, while in the Samba district of the Valley, BSF jawans celebrated Raksha Bandhan with schoolchildren, highlighting the festival’s essence of unity and mutual respect.
