Day 2 Agenda
- 8:15 am to 9:00 am: Individual motorcades will transport the leaders and delegation heads to Rajghat.
- 9:00 am to 9:20 am: At Mahatma Gandhi’s Samadhi, the leaders will lay a wreath, accompanied by a live performance featuring Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite devotional songs.
- 9:40 am to 10:15 am: Leaders and delegation heads will arrive at Bharat Mandapam.
- 10:15 am to 10:30 am: A tree planting ceremony will be held at the South Plaza of Bharat Mandapam.
- 10:30 am to 12:30 pm: The third summit session, titled ‘One Future,’ will take place at the venue, followed by the adoption of the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration.
On the second day of G20 Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to have a working lunch meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and has planned meetings with leaders from Canada, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Brazil, Nigeria, Comoros, and Türkiye. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy visited Akshardham Temple on Sunday morning, prompting heightened security measures in the temple’s vicinity.
The G20 leaders also laid a wreath to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat where PM Modi received them in front of the backdrop of Sabarmati Ashram. PM Narendra Modi was joined by a group of world leaders including US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as well as other Heads of state, government, and international organizations at Delhi’s Rajghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi and lay wreaths in his memory.
