Governor Ravi emphasized the importance of Sanatan Dharma and urged citizens to protect its values, warning against attempts to undermine its unity.

Tamil Nadu Governor Hails G20 Summit’s Celebration of Sanatan Dharma Amid Controversy

In a recent conference held in Chennai Governor RN Ravi lauded the global recognition of Sanatan Dharma during India’s successful hosting of the G20 Summit, themed “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (One Earth, One Family, One Future). This acclaim comes amidst the ongoing controversy sparked by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s contentious comments about Sanatan Dharma.

Governor Ravi subtly criticized Udhayanidhi’s remarks by affirming the indestructible nature of Sanatan Dharma. Udhayanidhi had equated it to various negative elements, calling for its eradication rather than opposition.

Highlighting the international recognition of Sanatan Dharma, Governor Ravi stated, “On the 9th and 10th of this month, the world celebrated the ‘Sanatana Utsava’ in New Delhi as we hosted the G20 Summit. This is because the G20 Summit under Bharat’s presidency was done with full commitment to Sanatana values, Sanatana Dharma, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam… Today, the world has begun celebrating Sanatana Dharma.”

Governor Ravi expressed concern over individuals distorting the essence of Sanatan Dharma for personal gain, emphasizing its enduring significance. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and protect the values of Sanatan Dharma, cautioning that any attempts to harm or eradicate it could threaten the unity of the nation.

Asserting the fundamental importance of Sanatan Dharma to India, the Governor warned against the efforts of anti-national elements seeking to undermine the country’s core strength. He drew parallels with the historical partition of India during British colonial rule and stressed the need to prevent any further division.

Governor Ravi invoked the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who emphasized the connection between Sanatan Dharma and the Indian identity, as reflected in the Constitution’s phrase, “India that is Bharat.” He lamented the lack of efforts to promote this understanding among citizens after British rule.
