Telangana: PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth Rs 8,000 Crores, Focuses on Power & Rail Infra

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 8,000 crores on Tuesday. The occasion was further highlighted by a public meeting in Nizamabad, organized by the BJP, which drew large crowds.

One of the highlights was the inauguration of the first 800 MW unit of phase 1 in the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project by NTPC. During his address, PM Modi emphasized the pivotal role of ample electricity in enhancing both business operations and quality of life, ultimately expediting the state’s industrial progress. He also announced plans for the commencement of the second unit, set to elevate the capacity to 4,000 MW.

PM Modi underscored the advanced nature of this thermal plant, positioning it as a benchmark within the country. He further emphasized the government’s commitment to bringing projects initiated by them to fruition. Reflecting on the journey, he pointed out that he laid the foundation for the project in 2016 and was now inaugurating it – a testament to the work culture of the government.

In an effort to elevate Telangana’s rail infrastructure, PM Modi dedicated key rail projects. This included the introduction of a new railway line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, along with electrification projects for Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool routes. The 76 km long Manoharabad-Siddipet rail line is expected to spur socio-economic growth, especially benefiting the districts of Medak and Siddipet. The electrification projects aim to increase the average speed of trains and promote eco-friendly rail transport in the region.

The Prime Minister also flagged off the Siddipet-Secunderabad-Siddipet train service, which is going to benefit local rail commuters in the region.
